IgnaziaBALSAMO

BALSAMO, Ignazia Peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at the Credit Valley Hospital, Palliative Care, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Joseph and caring and devoted mother of Rose (Rod), Toni (Enzo), Lisa (Greg) and Joanne. Proud Nonna of Ryan, Kristen, Kyle, Jeffrey, Emily, Zachary and Jake and Great-Nonna of Olivia, Nate, Cohen and Harry. Her family and friends will remember her as a strong independent woman whose love for her family knew no bounds. Her second passion in life, after her family, was cooking. Anyone lucky enough to come by the house at mealtime knew that they were always welcome to stay and enjoy a delicious meal, leaving after with more to take home for the next day. Whether she was visiting with family and friends or cooking for them, she always brought with her a fun-loving spirit and an amazing sense of humour, that kept everyone laughing through life’s ups and downs. She will be sadly missed by all. The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Avenue), from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4th. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place within the funeral home in the Chapel of St. Joseph on Thursday, October 5th at 9:30 a.m. The Final Rite of Committal and entombment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery (8361 Yonge Street, Thornhill). If desired, donations to the Credit Valley Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care would be appreciated. Online condolences and directions may be found at www.catholic-cemeteries.com
