INCRETOLLI, Genoveffa (Gina) (nee DiCenso) Passed away peacefully at her second home, Ridgeview LTCC, on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at the age of 89, after a valiant, lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Beloved wife of Attilio for 64 years. Cherished mother of Josie Bonaventura (Paul), Tony (Jennifer) and Albert (Vanda). Doting Nonna of Nicholas Incretolli (Patricia), Alexandra Haché (Matthew), Michael Bonaventura, David Bonaventura, Christina Bonaventura (Patrick Worden), Rachel Incretolli and Sarah Incretolli. Loving sister of Elisa DeRubeis, Orlando DiCenso and Italia DiPlacido. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews in Canada, United States, Italy, France and Venezuela. Predeceased by her parents, Francesco and Cecilia Giuseppina (Cianchetta) DiCenso; her brothers, Panfilo, Pasquale, Pietro and Americo; and her sister, Lina Almonte. Gina was part of a group of brave, young women who left Pettorano in 1951 to come to Canada to work as domestics. Her fiancé, Attilio, followed her the next year and they were married in Hamilton. She worked many years at Wagstaffe, but her true vocation was taking care of her family. Nobody made pizzellas or “cocco’s” like Nonna. Our sincerest thanks to all of Mom’s dedicated caregivers – you were truly like family. Visitation will be at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King St. E., Hamilton, on Thursday, August 18, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral will take place Friday, August 19, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke’s RC Church, 200 Mount Albion Rd., Hamilton, ON. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
