IngeburgLouise SCHAEFER (nee Kress)

SCHAEFER, Ingeburg Louise (nee Kress) Was a woman of kindness and steadfast resolve. She died in the presence of her loving children at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice on May 20, 2017. Born in Hammelburg, Germany on February 25, 1937, Inge survived unfathomable challenges and immigrated to Canada in 1955. She settled in Hamilton with her mother Maria Gabrysch, sister Gertrude, and brother Roland. Inge raised a family of three children with her husband Guenter, and together they operated mercantile and hospitality businesses in the area. In retirement, they enjoyed their homes in Florida and Gravenhurst before settling in Binbrook to be closer to family and friends. Her family and home were great sources of pride for Inge. She is survived by her children Danny (Mary), Shirley Anger (John) and Gerald (Michelle). Grandchildren Dwayne Anger, Chris Schaefer, Tanya Anger, and Danny Schaefer Jr. brought her 12 great-grandchildren. The family thanks Reverend Thomas Mertz of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, PSW Sheila Ravn, and the staff at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice for their profoundly meaningful kindness and support. A celebration of life will be held at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME , 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. A private interment ceremony will take place at a later date.
