With sadness, the family of Irene Sylvia Bennett announces her passing on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the age of 70, at Trillium Mississauga Hospital, with the love and support of her family and dear friends. Devoted mother to Darren (Lisa), grandmother to Kayla and Christopher, dear sister to Susan (Cliff), Barbara (Don), Douglas (Catherine) and Denise (Jim), loving aunt to Jennifer, Stacey, Eric, Danielle, Dara and Deanna and beloved great-aunt to twins Logan and Marlow. Irene was the “nucleus” of our family and “elder spokesperson”, keeping the extended ties strong. She had a generosity of spirit and kindness towards everyone, especially family and friends. Even in her decline she was more concerned about others. In her career, Irene had an enviable work ethic, dedication and loyalty. In her personal pursuits, she was committed to health and wellness, a natural athlete, fond of travel and a life-long lover of live music, especially the Motown era. She will be profoundly missed by all. Visitation at Turner & Porter Funeral Home, Neweduk Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga, on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 5-9 p.m. Private family service to follow Saturday, June 25th.
