CANFIELD, Irene June (nee Benest) —
Peacefully, at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Arthur. Dear mother of Bruce (Kathy), Diane (Roman) and Paul (Monique). Grandmother of Laura, Emily and John. Predeceased by her siblings Philip (Kay), Stanley (Eleanor), Frank, Leonard (Ingrid), Adele (Arthur) and Florence (John). Survived by sisters-in-law Edith Benest, Marilyn Taylor (Bob) and Rev. Sister Sandra Shannon. A longtime employee of Toronto Public Health. Irene will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to the staff at Trillium Health Centre and the staff at the Beechwood Retirement Living Centre who treated Irene with compassion and dignity during the most challenging years of her life. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., at Burnhamthorpe Rd., on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 3 p.m. If desired, remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.
