LAFORET, Jack Frederick B.A., B.Ed., M.Ed. – Passed away peacefully in the Veterans Wing at Sunnybrook Hospital on June 6, 2017 in his 95th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Lillias. Jack was the much loved father of Andrea, Gary (Raylyn), John (Luis), Beth (Andy) and James (Renee), proud grandfather of Jennifer, Jessica, John, Craig, Stephanie, Jonathan and Jacqueline and the treasured great-grandfather of Jillian and Christopher. Refusing to be sidelined by childhood polio, Jack successfully persisted in enlisting in the Navy in 1943 and served until 1946. After WWII he taught elementary school in Windsor, Ontario and went on to teach in Ontario Teachers Colleges in London, Windsor and Toronto, continuing his education while raising five children with love and laughter and pursuing his career. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at McDougall & Brown, 2900 Kingston Road, Toronto, Ontario M1M 1N5.
