JANE FANCY Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Grove Park Home, Barrie, on Monday, April 3, 2017. Jane Fancy in her 94th year, loving wife of the late Harry Fancy. Devoted mother of Lorraine (the late Dermot) Maher and the late Thomas (Ann) Fancy. Cherished grandmother of Michelle (Scott) Aspden, Scott Maher (Nicole Myers) and Jeffery (Tara) Fancy and great-grandmother of Ben, Sarah, Vera, Grace, Olivia, Lucas and Jacob. Jane and Harry founded Fancy’s Fish and Chips and Seafood in Toronto in 1954 and then moved to Barrie in 1969. The restaurant is still operated by the Fancy family. Friends will be received in the Auditorium at GROVE PARK HOME, 234 Cook Street, Barrie, on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 12 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 2 o’clock with a reception following. Memorial donations to the Barrie Community Foundation, The Grove Park Home Endowment Fund through The Barrie Community Foundation or Grove Park Home would be appreciated by the family.
