SINGLETON, Jean (nee Curran) —

Passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 in her 95th year, with the same grace she lived her life. Predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob), of almost 52 years, parents Allan and Marjorie Curran, daughter Janet Grass and infant daughter Susie. Survived by sons Paul (Cathy), Tom (Lynne) and son-in-law David Grass; grandchildren Alec (Ella), Matthew (Laura), Jamie (Amanda) and Tim Singleton, Virginia Cooper (Trevor), Jeff and Will Grass, Graeme and Ian Singleton and great-granddaughter Honor Cooper. Jean lived a full and wonderful life with Bob. She made lifelong friends and memories at Northern Secondary Vocational High School, where she was the first female valedictorian, St. James Bond United Church, the Moore Park neighbourhood, Devil’s Glen Country Club, The Donalda Club, 245 The Donway West, with the “girls” from the bridge club and at The Schoolhouse near Stayner. Jean was a “glass is brimming” optimist who saw opportunities, fun and excitement at every turn. She was a terrific role model for her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14th. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, August 15th at 1:00 p.m. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
