JessieElizabeth COUTTS

COUTTS, Jessie Elizabeth (nee CRAW) Goodbye dear mother, sister, friend. You kept on smiling ’til the end. We’ll miss you so. The time has come to take your place with matriarchs like Jean and Grace — you proud Scottish lassies. For fifty years, Jack’s devoted wife; hard work, yes, but what a life, so full of blessings. Your cup runneth over. Of your son Mark you were so fond; with him a bond that will never be broken. Sharon, too – she knew you loved her like the daughter you never had. You listened, laughed and gave such joy as Nana to your special boys: Christian and Daniel — the apples of your eye. Be their guardian angel from on high. Betty, Sheila, Janet and John; your siblings will carry on, remembering the lessons you taught us: kindness, compassion and above all else, never thinking of oneself. Your kind and gentle, gracious way made it easy for all to say that Jessie was a special lady. Now go rest your weary head, as we tend your garden bed. A pretty card, and shortbread too; with these we’ll always think of you. Knowing wherever we may roam that you, at last, are finally home. Hallelujah! Jessie passed away peacefully at age 90 on June 20, 2017, in the comfort of her home. In her final days she was surrounded by her family, her faithful dog Casey and her devoted team of caregivers. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25th at Kingsway-Lambton United Church, 85 The Kingsway, with a reception to follow at the Coutts family home, 44 North Drive, Etobicoke. In lieu of flowers, donations to Jessie’s church (above), Save the Children Canada or the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre Family Health Team are greatly appreciated.
