JOAN VERA SMITH Born in Epsom, England, passed away peacefully in Port Perry, Ontario, on Friday, July 15, 2016 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Louis Albert Smith. Parents Edith and William Empson; sisters Joyce, Nina, Brenda and Barbara and brothers George and Billy. Loved mother of Frank (Trish), Judy (Dennis), Norman (Jean) and John (Laura). Missed dearly by 9 grandchildren: Louis, Karen (Mark), Debby (Mark), Bradley (Lucillia), Sheri (Kirk), Scott (Tara), Dana, Christine and Rachael and 11 great- grandchildren: Joshua, Dylan, Evan, Jude, Easton, Rebecca, Brian, Greg (Katrina), Cheryl, Aaron and Bradley. Remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a strong woman, a true matriarch, who touched the lives of all that knew her. Funeral Service/ Celebration of Life to be held at the MCEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Rd., 905-428-8488, in the McEachnie Chapel on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens to follow.
