JOHNALFRED CHARLES LITTLEFORD

JOHN ALFRED CHARLES LITTLEFORD, FIIC January 13, 1929 – June 20, 2016 A truly wonderful man. A life fully lived. In his 88th year. He is survived by his dear wife Beverley (nee Lengbridge), to whom he was happily married for 66 rich and fulfilling years and by his children, of whom he was a proud and loving father: Judy, Debbie (Jeff Molnar) and Greg (Sally Morris). He is survived also by his brother Alan (the late Patsy), sister-in-law Bertha (the late Bob), nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Myrtle (nee Foster); siblings and their spouses, Margaret (Harold), Eileen (Jim), Verva (Omer) and Bob (Freda), sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine (Lengbridge) and Robert Farmer and his infant firstborn, Karen. Foremost among the many blessings Jack found in life, were his family, enduring friendships, genuinely good neighbors and colleagues and the inner peace and comfort he experienced in devotion to worship and participation in United Church activities. His long and diverse career in accounting was a source of immense enjoyment and was filled with many accomplishments, including establishment of the inaugural CIAA insurance accounting course at Trent University, as well as his leadership, mentoring and industry-changing contributions. Jack was respected in business. His colleagues knew him as a principled man who brought a generosity of spirit, encouragement and inspiration to the workplace. Jack relaxed fully at the family cottage, ever busy with building and fix-it projects and, not surprisingly to those who knew him, all things social. Throughout his life, he especially took delight in family goings-on, golf, fishing, singing with the church and Men of Note choirs, bridge, volunteering, participating in sport and cheering on the home team as a spectator. In all he did and set out to do, Jack had a sincere and unfailing optimism and belief in the humanity of those around him. He will be greatly missed by his family and his community. He leaves us having made an indelible mark on the world around us. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Jack’s Life is planned for 11 o’clock on September 17, 2016 at Stouffville United Church (34 Church Street, Stouffville, Ontario L4A 1E3, 905-640-1163). All are welcome. For those who wish, donations in Jack’s name can be made to Stouffville United Church or a charity of your choice. Our family is very appreciative of the care and attention Jack received from many providers representing all disciplines at North York General and Markham Stouffville Hospitals. In particular we wish to thank, Drs. Kaplan, Patterson and Dai, Rev. Cunningham, Palliative Care Team members and Ms. Delrose Coleman
