JOHNBIHARI

JOHN BIHARI May 21, 1935 – June 23, 2016 The tiger sleeps It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our proud and brave John following a short illness at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, Bracebridge. Born in Ibrany, Hungary, he learned his survival skills and developed his strong will growing up without his father who was killed during WWII in Russia. He is also predeceased by his first wife Suzanna Borsy, mother Jolan Hegedus and brother Bill Bihari. During the revolution he escaped to Canada, partially holding for dear life under a moving train to avoid capture. Following a few months working in the tobacco fields of southwestern Ontario, he moved to Oakville where he spent 36 years with the Ford Motor Company. Together he and Suzanna had four sons, Andy, Paul, James and Steven. Following her departure John raised his family as a single dad. He married Joyce Beaton in 2000 and their blended family included Peter, Douglas, James and Lorne Beaton and their thirteen grandchildren, Shevonne and Ben Bihari and Craig, Christine, Shannon, Tom, Sarah, Laura, Lila, Lucas, Michael, Jaime and Matthew Beaton. Poppa John delighted in and was dearly loved by the children whom he considered as a bonus in his life. John and Joyce felt fortunate to share 21 years in their retirement home on Grandview Lake, Muskoka, where the family enjoyed many happy holidays. They travelled extensively and treasured each moment they had together. The family wishes to thank the hospital nurses and physicians, especially Dr. Reid. A celebration of John’s life will take place at Skinner & Middlebrook Funeral Home, 128 Lakeshore Rd. E., Port Credit, at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 30th.
