VIDOVICH, John (Ivo) January 21, 1928 – February 20, 2017 With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of John Vidovich at St. Peters Hospital on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of 67 years to Anna, father to Lee and grandfather to Steven, Mark and Natalie. Survived by his beloved sister Anastasia (Harvey) in Canada, sisters Mary (Roko) and Gisella (Franjo), and brother Rudy (Maria), Vida (Maria), Mijo (Darinka) and Joseph (Klara) in Croatia. Uncle to Alexander. John will be mourned by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Canada and Croatia. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He religiously attended service at St. Luke’s and Holy Cross. John and Anna emigrated to Canada from Austria in 1954. They embarked on a new life and created a successful hairstyling business called Imperial Coiffures. He traveled extensively through Canada and Europe to perfect his trade. John was a nature lover and had a passion for gardening. John will be remembered for his love, compassion, kind spirit and generous heart. He was a man of great faith and integrity. He was blessed with many great friendships. He was an inspiration to us all. We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Olawale Ayeni and the staff at St. Peters Hospital for their care and compassion. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Catholic Church, 1883 King Street East, Hamilton on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 600 Spring Gardens Road, Burlington.
