Peacefully passed away with his loving family by his side on June 24, 2017 at the age of 88. Pre-deceased by his wife Mavis (2015) and grandson Dustin (2013). Devoted Dad to Sandra (Dan); Wayne (Karen); Johnny (Lillian); Gary (Jackie); Susan and David (Bernadette). Grandad to Tracey, Grant, Sara, Charles, Cassandra, Dakota, Amanda, John, Jason, Alana and Andrew. Great-granddad to Joshaua, Taylor, Ashley, Joy, Brianna, Benjamin, Hailey, Haylee, Dallas, Leigha, Bryson & Jack. Great-great granddad to Jayden. Survived by his sister Dorothy & his brother David and his wife Tina. He was a devoted man and will be forever remembered by many nieces & nephews, family and friends. In 1955 John & Mavis left Preston, England in 1955 and immigrated to Canada leaving behind family and the comfort of home to start a new life with their growing family. They were dedicated to their family and worked very hard to provide a life for their six children. John leaves behind a Legacy filled with much love and devotion from his family. Family and friends may visit Giffen-Mack Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 4115 Lawrence Avenue East (one block west of Kingston Road), Scarborough on Wednesday, June 28 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a service in our Chapel to follow at 3:00 pm.
