CANNING, Joseph Hugh – It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Hugh Canning announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in his 54th year. Joseph died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Toronto. Joseph will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lorna, children Matt (Dana), Linsey (Arash) and Zach. Loving grandfather to Yusuf, Ariana, Jack and Aiden. He is survived by his parents Hugh and Sylvia and will be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters, Paul, Jeanette, Michael (Kim), Kenneth (Susan), Mary Louise and Maryanne and his many nieces and nephews. Joseph was named after his paternal grandfather and his first grandchild, Yusuf was named after him. Joseph was known for his great love for his family, his wonderful sense of humour and his kind and generous heart. He has left a huge hole in our lives that can never be filled. Visitation at PAUL O’CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. (between Pharmacy and Warden), on Friday, March 17th from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church (3 Combermere Dr.). Interment St. John Cemetery (432 Ontario St., Newmarket). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Covenant House Toronto.
