KARL FRANCIS WINTERSTEIN Karl died unexpectedly but peacefully at Eastholme Home for the Aged, Powassan, on Friday, May 26, 2017. He was in his 97th year. Karl was predeceased by his beloved wife Marie Theresa (nee Freyer) (1924-2002). He was the beloved father of Karl (Bjorg) of Nipissing, the late John (1943-1999), Ray (Patricia) of Nipissing, Marie Sleep of Barrie, Theresa Lewis (Tom) of Nipissing, Susanna Stinson (Dan) of Udora and Eric (Colleen) of North Bay. He will be fondly remembered by 20 grandchildren and 33 great- grandchildren. Karl was predeceased by his grandson E.J. and brother Edward. The Winterstein family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 3 p.m. Cremation to follow at Forest Lawn Crematorium North Bay, with interment of ashes at a later date in St. John’s Alsace Cemetery.
