PODKONJAK Ladislav (Braco) “Weber” Born in Nova Gradiska, Croatia, March 13, 1953, Ladislav passed away at Juravinski Hospital on May 30, 2017, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Loving husband of Mara (Marija) Podkonjak. Cherished father of Andrej Podkonjak. Braco is survived by his mother Marija Podkonjak and kid brother Tomislav. Special brother-in-law to Milena, “Striko” Braco will be forever missed by nieces Maja and Tanja and numerous relatives from Croatia and Bosnia. Ladislav was a kind and gentle person, who was devoted to his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all. Nicknamed “Weber” by his musician colleagues, he was an amazing bass guitar player. He was a “foodie” and enjoyed cooking for friends and hunting for all of the right ingredients to make his recipes. Many thanks to Dr. Lieber and all the doctors and nurses at Juravinski Hospital for their care. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to join us for a celebration of Ladislav’s life which will take place on Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum of Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 600 Spring Gardens Rd., Burlington, Ontario, L7T 1J1. Family will notify close friends of the private interment to be arranged later.
