BANKS, Lawrie John Rex – Peacefully at the Michael Garron Hospital (formerly Toronto East General Hospital) in the loving care of his family on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in his 81st year. Lawrie, dearly loved husband of the late Nora (nee Riordan) for over 47 years. Cherished father of Lawrie Jr. (Lisa) and Monty (Tracey Arsenault). Predeceased by his brother Terry Banks (survived by his wife Colleen Kennedy) and his late sisters Eileen (her late husband Dave) Finlay and Patty Banks (her late husband Peter Anderson). He will be sadly missed by all of his extended family members, friends and neighours. Lawrie was a very proud member of the Toronto Hunt Club. He was an avid billiard player and golfer, once having achieved a hole in one at Glen Abbey. (at St. Clair Ave. E.), on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 10 a.m. until the commencement of the funeral service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 8361 Yonge St. (south of the 407).
