LOSAK, Maria Giuseppina (nee Ascrizzi) United in eternal love with her husband Franco (predeceased) it is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our most loved mother, Nonna, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend on July 25, 2017 in her 90th year. With her family by her side, Maria Giuseppina, is now at peace in the arms of our Lord. Born in San Procoppio, Reggio Calabria, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1958 with her sister Carmela to be with her brother Francesco. Maria Giuseppina was known for her love of cooking, sewing and helped write letters for friends to their families back home. While in the kitchen you could hear her beautiful singing voice through our home. For 57 years, she was devoted to her beloved husband Franco. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Mary and Michael Zivolak, Michael and Bonnie Losak, Antonio and Marianna Losak, Frank and Suzanne Losak and Antoniette Losak. Loving Nonna of Jessica (Greg), Josephine, Michelle, Daniella, Nicole, Lina, Francesco, Frankie, Mika and her beloved Antonio. Predeceased by her parents Antonio and Antonia Ascrizzi and in-laws Michael and Maria Losak. Dearly loved sister and sister-in-law and the late Francesco and Francesca Ascrizzi and Charles and the late Carmela Criminisi. Maria Giuseppina will be truly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Hamilton, St. Catharines, Australia, France, USA and Italy. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Sunny Luthra, Melanie, the staff of St. Peter’s Hospital and a special thank you to Sonia Radivojevic for taking care of our mother. Resting at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E., on Thursday, July 27 and Friday, July 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers on Friday at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
