HOLADYK, Maria It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Maria Holadyk. Maria (nee Cebak) Holadyk was born in Zukotyn, Ukraine. Maria is predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years Hryhorij. Maria is also predeceased by her parents Ilko and Justina, and by her two brothers and sister in Ukraine. Maria was the devoted mother of her three children Zenon (Marusia), Marika Lovas and Orysia Gris (Steve) and proud grandmother to Natalka, Oksana, Tamara and Stephen. Maria was active in the Ukrainian community as a proud member of the League of Ukrainians, a supporter of the Ukrainian Youth Association and a parishioner of Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church since 1952. Maria loved to sing and belonged to various Ukrainian choirs. Maria was also very talented and skillful in Ukrainian embroidery, and left many beautiful pieces for her family to cherish. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Juravinski Hospital F4 staff, and the CICU staff, in particular to Dr. Centofanti for his kindness, compassion and understanding. We are also thankful for the support given our mother by Dr. Leggett and staff at Grace Villa, and most especially by nurse Dawn for her loving and compassionate care. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Panachyda at 8 p.m. Funeral Service at Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church, 15 St. Olga Street, on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
