RISORTO, Maria
(July 24th, 1926 – May 30th, 2017)
Maria Risorto peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017, at the age of 90. Loving wife of the late Ciro Risorto. Beloved mother of Salvatore (Rita), Franco (Eleonora), Giovanni (Eufemia), and Rosanna (Pasquale). Dearly missed by her grandchildren Gino (Sheila), Frank (Nadine), Giancarlo, Maria (Mike), Anna (Enzo), Danny (Raffaela), Diana (Chris), Jonathan (Kristen), Marco, Romina (Stewart), Sabrina (Gary), Alexandra (Kyle), and 16 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her caregiver of 5 years, Shanamie Ngo, as well as her family and friends both here and in her home town of Amantea, Cosenza, Italy. Special thanks to Dr. Barrettara, the staff of CCAC, and Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their care. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Thursday, June 1st from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Prayers to be held at 8:15 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARY OF THE PEOPLE CATHOLIC CHURCH (570 Marion Ave., Oshawa) on Friday, June 2nd at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal with entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery (355 Taunton Rd. E., Whitby). If so desired, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Lakeridge Health Foundation – Cancer Care.
