Predeceased by husband James Drennan (1980) and partner Peter Yachimec (2000) and by siblings Essie Rowett, Wilbert (Buck), Francis, Agnes Fleming, Noella Culnan and Sister Mary Francis Xavier (Rita). Survived by daughters Faye Drennan and Laura (Steve) Collins and sons, Jim (Ann) and Loren (Rosanna), grandchildren Jennifer (Mark) Stewart, Emma Badame, Lindsey Drennan, Giancarlo Drennan, Kyle Drennan, Bianca Drennan, Michelle Collins and Robert Collins, great-grandchildren Owen Stewart, Connor Stewart, Emma Drennan, Ella Drennan and Kaley Rosa, nieces Teresa Dupré, Chrissy Robillard, Sandy Steele, nephew Fred Fleming, sisters-in-law Lucy and Margaret and friends Genette Bourque and Jim Badame. Born in Toronto just a few years before the Depression, Toni was raised in a Carmelite orphanage from the age of one in the city’s west end. To say her life was never an easy one would be an understatement. Nevertheless she persisted, working tirelessly through the hard times to provide a stable life for her children. She endured many serious personal illnesses throughout and battled this last one as valiantly as she had the others. Throughout it all she remained an ebullient, plucky lady who loved music, classic movies, golf, bingo, card games, scratch cards, Christmas, the Blue Jays, her many friends and most especially, her family. Our very own beautiful Yvonne De Carlo lookalike, Toni always prided herself on looking her best and seized every opportunity to smile, laugh, sing and dance. Never one to shy away from an opinion, she always told it like it was (or how she wanted it to be)—and we wouldn’t have had her any other way. A special thanks to the wonderful staff at Beech Court, Cawthra Gardens Long Term Care Home. Our Mom appreciated all of you making her final months the very best they could be.
