BARBU, Marija Passed away peacefully on Monday, September 18, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital Hamilton, at the age of 85 years. Beloved wife of the late Jon Barbu (1997). Loving mother of Viorica Marioncu (the late Nicholas) and Viorel Barbu (Aurelija). Proud grandmother of Thomas Marioncu, Jonathan Marioncu (Melanie), Maria Barbu and George Barbu (Christina), and great-grandmother of Austin Brown, Shawn Brown, Caleb Marioncu and Ariel Marioncu. Visitation for Mrs. Barbu will take place at the Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre , 1001 Ottawa St. South, Kitchener on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer service will be held on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Romanian Orthodox Church, 2150 Bleams Rd., Kitchener. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
