NICHOLS, Mary Elizabeth (nee ALLEN) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary, with her family in the comfort of her home, on June 13, 2021, in Scarborough, Ontario, at the age of 93.
Born April 14, 1928 in North Grand Pré, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Myrna (Kempton) Allen. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Stanley of 55 years and brothers Albert and George. Greatly missed by daughters Elaine Nichols of Toronto and Joanne Nichols (Sylvain Gobeil) of Haliburton.
Fondly remembered by grandson Christopher (Kathleen). Mary and Stan lived in Ottawa and Montreal and eventually settled in Scarborough in 1965. Mary will be remembered as a passionate nature lover who was sweet to all and everything she encountered. She adored flowers and enjoyed working in her gardens with special effort given to tending the wildflowers at the cottage. In later years she spent countless hours with her husband researching history and genealogy. She was a proud Mayflower descendant.
