MARY(KEENAN) HENEAULT

MARY (KEENAN) HENEAULT May 15, 1928 – June 6, 2017 Our infectiously joyful, fiercely proud mother Mary passed away peacefully on June 6, 2017, leaving a legacy of love and a trove of extraordinary memories to her extended family. Daughter of John and Winifred Keenan of Danielson, CT, Mary was predeceased by her husband Bob in 1999 and her son Tom in 2016, as well as her siblings Catherine, Bud (John) and Tom. She leaves behind her children Rob (Linda) of Victoria, BC, Suzanne (Guye Stroud) of Raleigh, NC, Pamela of Ottawa, Jay (Karen) of Mississauga and Kathryn (Claus Anthonisen) of Ottawa and grandchildren Geoffrey Stroud (Karen Fieselman) of Greenville, NC, Molly Weeks (Michael Weeks) of Durham, NC, Kathleen Lun (Ryan Lun) of Raleigh, NC, Michelle and Robert Heneault of Mississauga and Elizabeth and Cicely Anthonisen of Ottawa, along with her sister Ann Veilleux of Danielson, CT and many nieces and nephews and longtime friends. Just recently Mary met her great-granddaughter Winifred Grace Weeks, daughter of Molly and Michael. Mary enjoyed a full life that began in a small New England town but soon broadened to see her live in New York City, St. Jean, Quebec, Montreal, Burlington and Mississauga, as Bob’s career with Singer and then Stelco, and the growing Heneault brood flourished. Mary was an extraordinarily strong and influential presence, who was an expert and welcoming hostess, a fearless traveller (as evidenced by an African safari to celebrate her 80th birthday with the family), a lover of all beauty (particularly flowers) and a woman who always put her family first. We are grateful to have known, loved and learned from her. Despite her physical decline in recent years, she kept a twinkle in her eye and never missed an opportunity to share a laugh. –
