MAUREEN(DYLIS) BROWN

BROWN, MAUREEN (DYLIS) December 18, 1950 – June 19, 2017 Died after a brave battle with cancer and neuropathy hoping to make one more trip to her beloved Barbados where she and Richard Mackie were married April 20, 1979. She also dreamt of going back to Paris and Avignon where she also felt at home. After many years of working at the Vancouver Sun, Vancouver Province, and The Globe and Mail, she moved to a career as a political assistant in the governments of Premiers David Peterson and Dalton McGuinty. She is survived by her sister Deborah Brown, and predeceased by her brother Greg. She will be missed by her sister-in-law Marilyn Mackie, brother-in-law Andrew Mackie, nieces and nephews and many friends. Special thanks to her longtime friend Dr. Jean Marmoreo and her many caregivers at Bridgepoint Health. Visitation will take place at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne St., Toronto (just south of Wellesley St.) on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. and a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in the Coach House Chapel, followed by a private cremation. A reception will follow services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name to Bridgepoint Health would be appreciated by the family.
