McMANAMY, Austin Joseph January 7, 1924 – June 30, 2016 Peacefully in his 93rd year surrounded by his children at St. Joseph’s Villa on Thursday, June 30, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Jean (nee Husted). Loving father of John (Janet), Gerri, Tim, Mary Ellen (Mike), Peter, Paula (Ken), Kevin, Donna (Jeff), Julie (James), Brian (Guylaine) and Michele (John). Proud grandfather of 24 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Survived by his sisters Mae Higgins, Gertrude Collis, and Margaret Swan (Harry). Austin was a WWII Veteran, Pilot, Flying Officer, who flew Short Sunderlands off of the East Coast of Canada for 422 Squadron. Special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa for their care and compassion. Family will receive friends at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, “SWACKHAMER CHAPEL”, 195 King Street West, Dundas, on Tuesday, July 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas, on Wednesday, July 6th at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to St. Joseph Villa, Dundas, would be greatly appreciated. “Always On Our Minds And Forever Flying High In Our Hearts.”
