R. Ewing McMEEKIN
McMEEKIN, R. Ewing (1953 – 2016) Passed Saturday, September 10, 2016 in his 64th year after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. Beloved husband of Maureen McMeekin (nee Flynn). Cherished father of Kaitlin (Jaemin) Gliddon, James and Daniel McMeekin, and by his daughter Stacy Shaw. Much loved brother of Anthony (Jacquie) McMeekin. Dear son-in-law to Josephine Flynn and brother-in-law to John Flynn, Kathleen (Dean) Brunetti and Sheila (Brad) Walker. Predeceased by his parents Samuel and Edna McMeekin. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, “McSons” and “McDaughters”, his friends from Air Canada and his family at Kal Tire. Ewing was an avid fan of the Blue Jays, Cleveland Browns and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was the biggest fan of his loved ones, as family and friends were the centre of Ewing’s life. Our sincere gratitude to the staff in the ICU and the Rehab Centre at Joseph Brant Hospital as well as the loving staff at The Carpenter Hospice. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Monday, September 12, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday, September 13th from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where his Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 14th at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the funeral home.
