BALZER, Myrna Jean (nee Vaillancourt) Passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by family, at the age of 73. Loving wife of Michael for over 55 years. Devoted mother to Janet (Glenn), Dianne (Dan), Michael (Carol) and Stephanie (Blair). Cherished Grandma to 9 and Great-grandma to 9. Predeceased by her parents Jeff and Lissa. Loved daughter-in-law to Violet Balzer. ‘Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, Wow…What a ride!!!’ She did exactly that. Whether Myrna was enjoying her job for many years as an RPN at Joseph Brant Hospital, working on her home that she lived in for over 50 years, spending winters in Florida with her husband, shopping, camping with her grandchildren, playing cards, or drinking wine with her friends, she never let a moment go to waste. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. Special thanks to Dr. Susan Borden, who will forever be a part of our family. A private family service will take place.
