NOREEN SMALE (nee MCCAFFREY) 1926 – 2017 Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 3rd, at The Ottawa Hospital. Beloved wife of James Smale (1920-1988) and cherished mother to daughter Carol and son Bryan (Sherry Dupuis). A special place in her heart for her nephew Joseph Brett Smale (Wendy) of Nova Scotia, whom she visited often. Predeceased by her parents Hugh and Violet McCaffrey and her brothers Albert (Shirley) and Ken (Agnes) McCaffrey. Noreen spent most of her life in Oakville, Owen Sound and finally in Ottawa and wherever she lived, was a generous hostess, avid quilter and lifelong Boston Terrier devotee. Everyone whose lives she touched and usually fed, will miss her enormously. Noreen’s wish was to have a celebration of life rather than a funeral and two will be held this spring in Ottawa and in Waterloo.
