OLIPHANT, John (Jack) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack with his wife by his side at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Joie for 58 years. Loving father of Brenda Folk (David), Luann Dalmaso (Frank), Robert Oliphant (Jennifer) and Jacqueline Oliphant (Remo). Cherished grandpa of Westley, Justin, Ryan, Brandon, Abbey, Emma, Evan, Adrian and Julia. He will be sadly missed by other family and friends. Jack loved watching many sports especially hockey and football. He was a devoted CFL fan, especially the Hamilton Tiger-Cats win or lose. During hockey season he was a loyal Detroit Red Wings fan. He was particularly passionate about fishing and golf. Special thanks to Dr. Finley and staff of the thoracic program at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation. The family will arrange a private celebration of his life.
