Hans OPITZ
OPITZ, Hans Passed away peacefully with immediate family by his side, at Juravinsky Hospital in Hamilton, on July 30, 2016, at the age of 87. Devoted husband to Anni (nee Sanktjohanser) of 63 years. Father of Brian, father-in-law of Gayle (nee Chalmers), and super proud Opa of Eric and Jayme. Hans will be missed by his extended family, friends, work colleagues and the people he touched during his ski race coaching years. As he wished, a private cremation has taken place. A family gathering and remembrance celebration will be held at a later date. If desired, donations in Hans’ name can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
