CANNIZZARO, Orazio It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather Orazio Cannizzaro at the General Hospital on February 22, 2017, in his 90th year. He will be profoundly missed by his wife of 61 years, Calogera Cannizzaro. Devoted father and father-in-law of Vincenzo Cannizzaro and his wife Josephine, Charlie Cannizzaro and his wife MaryAnn. Amazing grandfather to Charlene and fiancé Blake Payne, Christina and her husband Darryl George, Elora and Steven. Truly wonderful great-grandfather to Serenity and Benjamin. For Orazio his family was his greatest happiness and the joy of his life. Predeceased by his parents Maria and Vincenzo Cannizzaro and his in-laws Maria and Calogero Lumia. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Angela Cannizzaro, Calogera and the late Salvatore Lauricella, Maria and the late Francesco Vassallo, Francesco and Grazia Cannizzaro, Giuseppina and the late Salvatore Cardillo, Anna and the late Salvatore Vella, Stella and the late Diego Terrana. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Born in Racalmuto, Sicily on February 12, 1927. Orazio was a gentle man, a family man and a man that would tell his family how much he loved them. For Orazio his family was his world, he cherished them and never hesitated showing his pride. He will be deeply missed but will live on in our hearts forever. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the General Hospital, 5 West for their care and compassion during Orazio’s stay. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) on Saturday and Sunday from 5 – 9 p.m. Vigil Prayers on Sunday at 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Incarnation Church, 400 Pottruff Rd. N, Hamilton on Monday, February 27 at 9:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
