ORFEO FERRARI It is with aching hearts and overwhelming sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Orfeo, our 90-year old beloved patriarch, surrounded by the devoted love of his family. Adoring husband to Elvira (Alati) for 68 years and much cherished father to Rocky (Angie, nee Crupi) and Dolores (Tony Nero). Nonno Orfeo lived for his grandchildren: Vanessa (Dennis Correia), Maria Stefania (John Panacci), Giuliana (John DiSabatino), Dino, Olivia, Giancarlo and Riccardo. Blessed to be the bisnonno to Palma, Dante, Noemi, Lucas and Roger James. He is survived by his loving sisters Anna and Eva. Well cared for by his support worker Rasu. It was to Orfeo and Elvira’s home that many cousins and paesani from Sora arrived in the 50s to start their new life and prepare a way for their families – his generosity and goodness of spirit knew no bounds. Family and friends are welcome to Highland Funeral Home, Markham Chapel, on Wednesday, May 24 from 6-9 p.m. and Thursday, May 25 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 26 at 10:30 a.m at St. Justin Martyr Parish in Unionville, with burial following at Holy Cross Cemetery (Bayview entrance). Orfeo loved flowers, but donations are also welcome to Sunnybrook Hospital (Vascular Surgery).
