VERNON, PATRICIA JUNE (nee CORY) We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our loving mother on June 12, 2021, in her 97th year.
Patricia was born in Belleville, Ontario on March 26, 1925 and moved to Toronto in her early twenties, where she met and married the love of her life, the late Derek Vernon, born in England.
Mom passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones. Cherished Mother of Gerry, Donna (Bill), Beverlee (Mike) Derek (Berni), amazing and so full of love grandmother to Tamara (Eric), Bradley, Amanda, Samantha, Brittany, Brett, Hunter and Ashtyn and great-grandmother to Christopher, Derek, Bryar and Asher. Patricia was predeceased by her parents Charles Cory, Marguerite Cory, sister Donna Bryant and great-grandson Isaac. Mom was a member of St. Paul’s United Church in Scarborough for several years leaving behind many close friends.
A special note of thanks to our lifelong “Family Friend” Willie MacDonald, Mom’s “Special PSW” Tammy and to all the family, friends and caregivers who came to visit and care for Mom during her illness. Mrs. Vernon rested at the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville, on Thursday, June 17, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
A Graveside Funeral Service followed at the Belleville Cemetery, at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Leslee Alphano officiated.
