GEORGE, Patricia Mary (nee SANDERSON) March 17, 1934 – July 17, 2017 Passed away peacefully at Bridgepoint Hospital surrounded by her children. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Gladys Sanderson, and her husband Michael. Loving mother of Tom (Eileen), Michele (Peter), Glynis (Al) and Meredith and devoted grandmother of Michele, Sarah, Alexander, Duncan and Clara. A proud graduate of Riverdale Collegiate and the University of Toronto, Pat had a long and enjoyable career with the Toronto Public Library. A lifelong lover of books, especially Canadian literature, she was deeply engaged with political issues and strongly committed to social justice. A highlight of her retirement years was her involvement with Harmony Hall Centre for Seniors, where she had many friends and spent many happy hours, especially with her knitting group. Family and friends will be received at the Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave. (at Main subway), on Saturday, July 22nd from 2-6 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Sunday at 1 p.m.
