PaulWilliam COMISSION

COMISSION, Paul William Paul died at age 65 on Sunday, September 24, 2017 after a 14 year battle with heart failure. He was joking to the end and peacefully slipped away as the doctors at Toronto General Hospital struggled to save him. Paul was the much loved husband of Michael Anne MacDonald Comission, caring and devoted father of Andrew and his wife Amanda, Christopher and his wife Lea and the adored and adoring “Gumpah” – emphasis on the “Pah” – of Cali and Lauren Comission. Paul is also survived by his mother Pearl Comission of Port Carling and his brother Michael Comission of Port Carling. He is survived by a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and wonderful caring friends and comrades, who filled his life with much happiness. Paul was a gentle and caring soul. Paul never met a child, a dog or a horse that he did not love and that did not love him. He will be greatly missed. Paul was a proud member of the Port Carling Lions, Port Carling Legion – Branch 529, the Royal Newfoundland Regiment – Bulger’s Company of the Historic Military Establishments of Upper Canada and of the Gravenhurst Rifle and Revolver Club. Paul had a full life. We are grateful to the wonderful doctors, nurses and technicians, who kept him alive for so many years when his own body was letting him down. Memorial donations to the Port Carling Lions Seniors Residence or to Andy’s Place – The Andy Pott’s Memorial Foundation – Hospice Muskoka in Port Carling. In the end, he went gently into that good night without pain. He slept away, knowing he was much loved by so many. Paul’s ashes will be interred with his father at Glen Orchard Cemetery on October 28, 2017 with a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. at the Port Carling Legion.
