CHIN, Philip —

Philip of Toronto, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Philip, 88, was surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 23, 1928 in Suriname. In July, 1950 Philip married the love of his life, Margarita Asiu, and together they had seven children, Junette (Douglas), Annette, Neil (Linda), Lizann (Michael), Dick (Rachelle), Deborah and Sean. Philip was a loving, caring man whose generosity touched many. It was the hallmark of his life and his foundation of his stellar career in auto sales, both in Trinidad and in Canada. He will be greatly missed and is survived by his loving wife Margarita, Sister Irene, all of his children, his eleven grandchildren Ava (Jon), Tommy (Amanda), Corey, Keri (Andrew), Chris, Scott, Kyle, Cody, Nigel, Damian, Alicia and also his four great-grandchildren Connor, Karys, Grayson and Carter. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24th. A service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, March 25th at 10:30 a.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made in Philip’s name to the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto.
