PHYLLISGOLDMAN

GOLDMAN, PHYLLIS May 21, 1932 – July 12, 2017 Phyllis died on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 surrounded by her children. Phyllis was the daughter of Phil and Molly Rosen (nee Weinstock) and older sister of brothers Irv (Judith) and Howard (Rodica). She was predeceased by her loving husband Sol less than four months ago. She leaves her children Bob (Marlene), Randy (Charlene) and Ruth (Gary) and her beloved grandchildren Adam, Mara, Shauna, Luke and Emma. Phyllis was born in Toronto on May 21, 1932. She was a smart, industrious and selfless child, student and young adult. She worked from the time she was 10 years old delivering the Telegram to Bay St. offices while she was excelling at school. She married Sol on October 11, 1953 and returned to the University of Toronto where she earned her B.A. and Bachelor of Library Science degrees. She did this while raising three children who witnessed first-hand her passion for them and for her work. She went on to work as a Librarian and Manager in the North York Public Library for 35 years, retiring in 1991. She never stopped learning; she never stopped caring for the underprivileged; she never stopped loving and contributing to her family. Phyllis leaves a wide and deep pool of family and friends. We will miss her dearly but continue to hold up her credo not to sweat the small stuff and take care of one another.
