Rita Catherine Foch EGAN

Born on November 9, 1918 in Dublin and passed away peacefully at her home in Mississauga on Sunday morning, June 4, 2017. She will be greatly missed by her fourteen children: Rory (Phyllis), Sheila (Richard), Eileen (Gabriel), Moira, Rita (Vern), Sean, Brian (Cecelia), Maureen, Kevin (Angela), Mary Anne, Rosaleen, Patrick (Jennifer), Desmond (Marilyn) and Nick, by her 32 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews. Rita was a wonderful wife, mother and teacher with a lightning quick Irish wit and a lifelong love of literature, poetry, history and music. She was devout in her Roman Catholic faith and put that faith into action through many charitable works of mercy. Rita was predeceased by Rory, her husband of 60 years and by her brothers Bernard, Patrick and Joseph Burke. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10, N. of QEW), on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, 4070 Central Pkwy. E., on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Interment Assumption Catholic Cemetery. If desired, remembrances may be made to ShareLife or a charity of choice.
