GLOVER, Robert George —

October 20, 1933 – September 4, 2016

It is with sad but very proud hearts that we announce the death of our family patriarch – Robert (Bob) Glover at the age of 82 years. He died peacefully with his loving wife of 59 years at his side. He fought prostate cancer valiantly for the past 21 years. He spent his last week surrounded by his loving family and enjoying one last Blue Jays game. He is predeceased by his son Rob, his brother Gord and his sister Dorothy. He is survived by his wife Joan, son Marty (Dawn), daughter Michele (John), daughter-in-law Janet Glover (Rob), sister Joan Solecky, grandkids Kristin, Tom, Dan, Kate, Marc, Rylee and Sasha as well as his three great-grandkids – Jayden, Trey and Hayley. He was dearly loved by many nieces and nephews.

Founding President of Porcelain Technologies, he was famous for his humour, rose garden and for his claim to fame as “Mr. Streetsville.” His greatest passions were his wife Joan, baseball, food, history, gardening, children and laughing until he cried. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. Husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend – he made us all laugh and feel deeply loved and protected.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the First United Church in Port Credit (http://www.firstportcredit.com), or the Children’s Wish Foundation (http://www.childrenswish.ca/). –
