ROSS LAWRENCE MAY 1939 – 2016 Peacefully passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of the late Joan (nee Robinson). Dear father of Andy (Kristen) May and the late Tim May (Margo McDiarmid). Cherished grandfather of Aislinn, Cooper and Avery May. Survived by his brother-in-law Dave (Eileen) Robinson, uncle to Brad (Lisa) Robinson and children Sarah and Amy, Karen (Bruce Minns) and Linda Robinson (Steve). Ross was raised in Toronto and attended Runnymede Collegiate and the University of Western, winning an Ontario Championship in basketball at both levels. Ross played basketball all his life, competing in the Melbourne World Masters Games in 2002, where his team won a gold medal. Ross married his high school sweetheart Joan in 1962 and began his life’s journey. He started his career at Ford Motor Company and then went on to own and manage several car dealerships until his retirement. Ross and family lived in several towns across Ontario including Kingston, Oakville, Orangeville and Burlington. A Memorial Gathering will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), Burlington (905-632-3333), on Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 3-6 p.m. Tributes for Ross at 4 p.m. Private Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Toronto.
