Rudolpho(Rudy) Ceinovski

CEINOVSKI, Rudolpho (Rudy) —

On June 10, 2017 a lovely gentleman who shared a fence with us for 16 years slipped away, bound for heaven. Rudy was a Latvian refugee from WWII. He came to Canada after the war with nothing but a few bullets lodged in his shoulder courtesy of the invading Russian army. He attended Ryerson Polytechnical Institute and began a new life as QC supervisor with a Toronto tool and die company. Rudy lived a quiet life. He never married. He sang in a local Latvian choir and enjoyed playing tennis well into his seventies. For the past 10 years, Rudy was cared for so lovingly by the doctors and nurses at Vermont Square. We are grateful for the kindness he received. We will always remember Rudy for his love of sports, nature and music. In spite of the many burdens life foisted upon his shoulders, Rudy’s legs never buckled and his smile never faded. Farewell sir, you have earned your rest.

Friends may come to visit at St. John’s Latvian Lutheran Church (200 Balmoral Avenue) on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 10 to 11 a.m. There will be a funeral service held there at 11 a.m. followed by a burial at York Cemetery.
