RUTH ANN DARLING (nee HOOPER) Born on October 13, 1936 in Durham, Ontario Died Friday, January 27, 2017 in Oakville, Ontario Survived by her soul mate, husband John Charles Darling and beloved siblings Jean Parkes (Brian) and Ken Hooper (Eileen). Will be profoundly missed by her children Anne Walker (Dave) and Tim Darling (Carolyn) and by her cherished grandchildren Jessie, Jack, Justin and Emily. Ruth grew up on a farm in Grey County, Ontario and began a lifelong passion for capturing the beauty of nature around her in lovely oil paintings. She gardened with tireless energy and skill; she always loved beautiful flower gardens. She also dedicated her life to singing in fabulous choirs, like the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and Chorus Niagara. The beauty of the human voice gave her tremendous pleasure. Ruth taught elementary school for almost three decades and was a Teacher of great integrity and compassion. Ruth had an enduring faith and always lived her life with concern for other’s well-being. All are welcome at a service of remembrance on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home, 114 Main St. E., Milton, ON. Visitation at noon, service at 1 p.m., reception to follow.
