RUTH GRAY FULLBROOK
October 21, 1925 – August 18, 2016
It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Fullbrook announces her passing at age 90 on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Fairview Lodge, Whitby, ON. Ruth was the beloved wife of Allan for 64 wonderful years. Cherished mother of Bob, (Moncton, NB), Leslie Stephenson and husband Andy (Oshawa), Laurie Munro and Travis Ferrier (Alliston), Karen Fullbrook and husband Jan Ravens (Schomberg). Ruth was a devoted grandmother to Connor, Matthew, Andrew and Ann. Fondly remembering her are many nieces, nephews and friends.
Ruth was the daughter of the late Daniel and Jane MacKillop (nee Urquhart). At age 20, Ruth left her Cape Breton Island home with sisters Dora and Jean. Ruth attended business college in Oshawa and pursued an office career in Toronto. While raising their family in Etobicoke, Ruth and Allan enjoyed many trips to visit extended family in eastern Canada and USA. Ruth’s skill as a baker was appreciated by all. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and poetry. Ruth was predeceased by her son-in-law Peter Dirks and her siblings.
Visitation will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home 847 King St. West, Oshawa, ON, Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m. A private family interment service will follow.
