SCHACHT, Saul – In his 87th year, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Kensington Hospice. Devoted father to Michael, Brenda (Ron Dodds), Cindy and Terry (Mark Spiers). Cherished step-father of Jay Lefler. Much loved grandfather to Adam, Joshua and Rikki Chisvin. Beloved son of the late Abraham and Eva Schacht. He will be forever remembered and loved by family, friends and the “Starbucks gang” for his intellect, humour, kindness and a passion for all things politics. A fierce competitor on the tennis court, we are grateful that until recently, dad lived his life as a remarkably vital, active and athletic man. The funeral service will be held at Benjamin’s Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West (three lights west of Dufferin) on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Kiever section. Shiva will begin on Wednesday, April 19th and will be observed at 66 Venice Crescent, Thornhill, Ontario. Memorial donations may be made to Kensington Hospice, 416-963-9640.
