Eoin SELLAR
SELLAR,Eoin It is with profound sadness we share that Eoin Sellar, age 83, passed away on November 12, 2016 in Hamilton, Ontario surrounded by his family. He was born the eldest son to Olive and George Sellar in London, England in 1933. As a young boy he spent many years living in Findhorn, Scotland with his paternal grandparents who owned a fishing company and with his beloved maternal grandparents in Norfolk, England. During the war, his mother and three brothers re-located to Wales and post-war the family settled back in Kenilworth, England. There, under his father’s encouragement, Eoin apprenticed as a millwright, a trade which he brought to Canada when he “crossed the pond” at 22 years of age. He made his way to Hamilton where he eventually met his wife, Patricia, at the Serbian Club. They wed in 1966 and their family grew to include two sons and two daughters. This past July they enjoyed celebrating their golden wedding anniversary at Windermere House on Lake Rosseau with those closest to them. Over the years Eoin worked as a millwright and as a real estate agent (Guarantee Trust, Century 21, and Alec Murray) through which he made many friends in the Hamilton community. Eoin will forever live in the hearts of his loving wife of 50 years Patricia (nee Russell) and his four children, eldest son Travis (Charlotte), daughter Melanie (Robert), daughter Candace (David), and youngest son Nathan. His three young grandsons, Dillon, Finnegan, and Connor, will always remember playing at grampy’s feet in the living room. Across the pond, his English family — Robin (Sue), Colin (Jill), and Tony (Carol) — will miss their brother with the “booming Canadian voice”. We are truly grateful for the care and support given to Eoin during his final weeks at the Bob Kemp Hospice, as well as the long-term care provided by Doctors Black, Cox, and Khalidi. Visitation will be held at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME ” William J. Markey Chapel “, 947 Rymal Road East., HAMILTON (905-574-0405) on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. A Celebration of Life will take place in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. As an expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton. Please sign the online Book of Condolences at www.baygardens.ca
