SVERKO, Stefica Stefani suddenly and peacefully passed away in the arms of her loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the age of 78. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years Jakov (Jack). Cherished mother of Grace, and Ed and his wife Catherine. She will be dearly missed by the joys of her life, granddaughters Katlynn and LeeAnn. Stefani will be fondly remembered by her many friends and family in Canada and Croatia, especially her sister Nina, sister-in-law Maria and her children Ivan, Veronika (Domenic), and their children. Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Prayer Vigil at 7:15 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Croatian Catholic Church, 1883 King Street East, Hamilton on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. It is Stefani’s wish that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation
