BARKER, Susan Marie (nee Stumpf) —
August 29, 1944 – March 25, 2017
On Saturday, March 25, 2017, at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto. Cherished wife of Stephen Barker for almost 29 wonderful years. Steve’s death preceded Susan’s by just a few days. Born in Kitchener, ON, Susan was the second child of Herbert and Kathleen (née Connell). Susan will be lovingly remembered by her step-daughter Roberta Barker, brothers Robert, Thomas and Daniel, sisters Lucy and Mary Ann, other extended family members and her many friends. She was predeceased by her brother Jonathan. Susan enjoyed a long career as an English teacher. Devoted to her profession, she touched the lives of many in Toronto, Kitchener and Kincardine secondary schools. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 30th, at 9:30 a.m., at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mt. Pleasant Road (East gate entrance). The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
