TALIVALDIS EDVINS KRONBERGS Born in Riga, Latvia, February 23, 1930, son of Richards and Lilija Kronbergs, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on April 20, 2017 at Kristus Darzs Latvian Home, Toronto. Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Vera Kronbergs (nee Petersons), father of Valters and Linda Maruta (Henry), brother of Aina Zulis. Prior to retirement, long serving Manager of the Province of Ontario Savings Office. Talivaldis will be remembered for his tremendous contribution to the Latvian community: 30 years in leadership roles in the Latvian National Federation in Canada (President 28 years), past Vice President of the World Federation of Free Latvians, Board Member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church and the Latvian Pensioners Association. Past leader of student fraternity Patria in Canada. Recipient of the Three Star Order of Latvia. Visitation will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 Balmoral Avenue, 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 29th with memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Talivaldis requested donations made to the Latvian National Federation in Canada or Kristus Darzs Latvian Home
